TIPS TO INCREASE THE LIFE SPAN OF YOUR “PRO HAX” Drumsticks:

**Always Play with Name/ logo Facing Up for Extra superior strength

** (“NO SH*T, ALWAYS PLAY THIS WAY”!!)

Your sticks are the most important part of your kit. For maximum longevity think of them like a woodwind reed, instead of a bashing stick. My sticks are intentionally lacquer free; the feel of the wood is good, and it’s easier to hold as well.

- If you stab at cymbals BEWARE the tip is the weakest part of the stick. Now the tip won’t break off, however small pieces could shear off over time at the grain boundaries. First time You should still have 80% tip left so no problem to keep using then. I smear a small amount of wood glue on damaged areas. Lesson learned!

- It’s especially important to check your sticks every time you play. The main shaft diameter can take rim shots, cymbal strikes, bell hits, etc. no problem. The tapered portion is more important to reinforcement. In general, if you create small shallow dents in the main shaft there should be no need to repair these areas. However sharp indents if shallow can be sanded out; if deeper use a cheap small round file, and while using light pressure in filing out the defect, make sure to file very lightly all around the area at the same time so the profile will be smooth and tapered, changing file directions often. Take out less than more, then light sand.

- Because I do not use Lacquer on the wood, after a LONG time, (Months), will need to be hydrated. DON’T freak out all these exercises take a few minutes. To rehydrate you will need a rag and rehydration material.

This is up to you that I use a small amount of already boiled Linseed oil. You can use other wood oils; however you may have to sand lightly after its absorbed, or the stick will feel slippery.

“If you follow these tips, you will be amazed at the life span and value of these sticks”. JS Pat. Pending 2023
